Let Cascade Licensing help you with getting a disabled WAshington State parking pass, tabs or plates

For Individuals

Temporary Placards

If you have a temporary condition that meets the disabled parking requirements, you are able to get a red placard for up to 12 months.

In order to get this placard, please bring:

  • A completed Disabled Parking Application for Individuals, signed by a licensed physician, physician’s assistant, or registered nurse
  • A signed, original prescription written on the healthcare’s letterhead or prescription paper

Permanent placards, tabs & plates

If you have a permanent condition that meets the disabled parking requirements, you are able to get one of the following options:

  • 1-2 blue placards
  • 1 blue placard and 1 set of disabled parking license plates
  • 1 blue placard and 1 disabled parking tab to be used with special designed or personalized plates

In order to get these, please bring:

  • A completed Disabled Parking Application for Individuals, signed by a licensed physician, physician’s assistant, or registered nurse
  • A signed, original prescription written on the healthcare’s letterhead or prescription paper

Determining eligibility

There are many reasons why an individual might qualify for disabled parking privileges. Whether it is permanent, temporary or for an organization, we can assist with helping you get the appropriate placard, tabs, or plates.

Please note, however, that we are a licensing agency only and are not able to provide you with determining your eligibility. Only a licensed physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse practitioner has the authority to do that. Visit the DOL for a list of types of conditions that qualify.

Did you know?

The person who meets the eligibility and gets the placard, plates, or tabs is the only one authorized to use them. Additionally, Washington State has rules for using disabled parking.

For Organizations

If your organization transports any who has a qualifying disability, you are able to get either Placards or Plates.

Please note that if you choose plates, the vehicle must be registered with the Organization and used for regular transport.

Did you know?

All disabled parking plates, both individual and organizational, must be renewed annually. All permanent placards must be renewed every 5 years. Temporary placards must be returned after they expire, so they can be properly destroyed.
